Australian comedy series Utopia – starring stand-ups Celia Pacquola, Luke McGregor and Kitty Flanagan – is to be screened in the UK.
The satire, set within the fictional Nation Building Authority, a government body responsible for major infrastructure projects, has been snapped up by Netflix. However it will be renamed Dreamland to avoid confusion with the Channel 4 thriller.
The first season aired on Australia's ABC network last year and won the prestigious Logie Award for most outstanding comedy series. The second series launches next month, and both will be streamed on Netflix in both the US and UK from later this year.
It was created by Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner and Rob Sitch, who also plays one of the lead characters, and also stars comics Dave Lawson and Anthony 'Lehmo' Lehmann, who once held the record for the most jokes cracked in an hour.
