Tonight - 10.35pm BBC OneRhys Thomas directs a look at Freddie Mercury’s solo career.His success on his own was patchy – the first album didn’t make an impact, but he wasn’t a man to dwell on failure, moving on to a bizarre-sounding project: duets with Spanish opera star Montserrat Caballé. Barcelona and its stand-out title track were huge hits, despite being denounced by the opera establishment, and Caballé talks fondly of her friend: “I love very much Freddie.”
