Sindhu Vee is an award-winning comedian, writer and actor.

Since swapping a career in investment banking for comedy a decade ago, Sindhu has garnered roles in several high profile television series and films while completing several successful comedy tours in the UK, India, and America.

As a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, Sindhu has twice appeared on BBC Two’s Live At The Apollo, most recently as host, and has appeared as a guest on all of the top British panel shows, including: Mock the Week (BBC Two), QI (BBC Two), Have I Got News For You (BBC One) and Would I Lie to You? (BBC One). Sindhu has toured across the UK and performed stand up across the world, including at the invitation-only Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. In 2021, Sindhu
recorded a Stand Up Special of her solo show Sandhog, which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Sindhu can be seen as Mrs Phelps in the Netflix feature film adaptation of Matilda, starring alongside Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch and Stephen Graham. The feature film musical, based on Tim Minchin’s adaptation, was directed by Matthew Warchus and released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland in November 2022, and will be available to stream across the world on Netflix. Sindhu also recently completed
filming on Kristin Scott Thomas’ directorial debut feature film My Mother‘s Wedding, which stars Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller. Sindhu also features in TV series The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh which is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios. Other acting credits include: Starstruck (BBC/HBO Max), Sex Education (Netflix) and Feel Good (Channel 4/Netflix).

In 2018 Sindhu wrote and hosted her own series, Sindhustan, on Radio 4. She returned to the station last summer with her new series, Things My Mother Never Told Me About Lockdown. Sindhu also co-hosts the Child Labour podcast with Stuart Goldsmith for Radio X. Sindhu also has a strong international fanbase. She has performed to sold-out houses
in India, plus performed her stand up for NDTV’s Rising Stars of Comedy.

Superior comedy… Exceptionally funny.

Gleefully wicked

Refreshing, clever stuff
Bruce Dessau
She effortlessly manages to be simultaneously waspish yet instantly very likeable
Steve Bennet, Chortle
Her acerbic perspective and unapologetic delivery of less politically correct home truths are alarmingly persuasive
