To date, Darran has performed at some of the top comedy clubs in London, including The Comedy Store, Top Secret, The Boat Show, The 100 Club, some of the countries most prestigious venues the Hackney Empire and the Indigo at the O2, as well as supporting some of the countries top comics, Russell Howard, Iain Stirling, Judi Love, Simon Brodkin and Kojo Amin.
After an exciting debut on the circuit, in 2018 he was an Amused Moose National New Comedian semi-finalist, BBC New Comedy Award nominee and Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian runner-up. This was then followed by being a 2021 British Comedian of the Year semi-finalist. 2022 saw Darran reach the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Award and British Comedian of the Year.
His debut show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023, Inconceivable, was listed in The Sun’s ‘Twenty must-see comedy shows’ and Edinburgh Evening News as ‘13 shows to watch out for.’ The show was released as a special in 2024 and is currently in development for TV, after being nominated Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2024.
Darran’s TV and Radio credits include BBC Three, BBC London, Times Radio, BBC 1 Xtra, Yanga TV, BBC Radio and Pulse88 FM, where he presented and produced a weekly Saturday morning radio show called the Saturday Morning Hangover.
He has been tour support of BBC Radio's Aurie Styla and part of the national WAHALA Tour: Jamaica vs Africa, with Britain's Got Talents' Kojo Anim.
Since 2017 he has hosted a weekly podcast called Griff's Brain Dump, where he discusses is personal life and current affairs. In 2023 he launched Late Nights & Wet Wipes, a weekly parenthood podcast co-hosted by fellow comedians and recent fathers, Kazeem Jamal & Michael Akadiri.
